Oriphix 61
Just to make things easier on people if you are having connection issues please use the tool below. Its made by me for L2Shrine (it will not work for any other L2 servers). The tool is a executable and once run it will ping and trace the main server and the three proxies. You don't have to do anything but wait for the program to finish running and send the results to the GM team / create a post in the forum. L2Shrine_Ping - This will ping the main server and then three proxies 10 times each and populate the results. L2Shrine_Trace - This will trace the main server and the three proxies and populate the results (runs with -d) L2Shrine_Trace_and_Ping - This one will populate both the results in to one file. When the tool is running a black box will come up to indicate the program is running. When its finished running the black box will disappear. At the same time the black box is up on the screen you will notice that the CSV (Microsoft Excel) file is being created on your desktop. Don't open this until the black box disappears otherwise you will get a error saying its in use. The tool will name the CSV file to the same name depanding on which tool you run. For example if you ran the L2Shrine_Ping executable there will be a file on your desktop which says L2Shrine_Ping.csv Download: All three executable's are located inside the Troubleshooting folder. https://app.box.com/v/L2Shrine *TIP: be patient when running the Trace / Trade and Ping executable's. Depending on how many time outs you get it can take a while (up to 5-10 minutes) *TIP: before you run the tool make sure you are not downloading, torrenting, streaming in 1080p etc. Anything that will use the internet can affect the results, and you want to get the true results and not false positives. Hope you find the tool useful Edited February 21, 2017 by Oriphix
paradisecircus 0
hey, i'm assuming that if you came up with the idea of making this, you've already heard of people having lag issues here. if so, could you tell me how the fixed the problem? i've been playing here for like a week and have terrible lags from time to time (which doesn't happen on other servers or stuff). thanks for it anyway! hope noone needs to use it and has flawless gaming experience on the server

You can also try battleping or some similar software

I haven't had a chance to really look into the matter coz i've been busy, and that's why i didn't make any official post about it. Thanks for the advice though
shavander 3
"Alt" has worst Ping but there is no lag at all (best for Dynamic IP )

For "shitty" networks (with bad peering) the [alt] is often the best. I'd suggest this server selection scheme: for French, Spanish, Portugal and Netherlands users try [FR] first, then [main], then [alt] for American users try [US] first, then [FR], then [main], then [alt] for european users try [main] first, then [alt], then [FR] for non-european users try [main] first, then [US], then [FR], then [alt] Don't look at the ping it shows, it's very inaccurate (also it's measured only once), so the value may vary
