I didnt do much research before the post but i remeber atleast 2 servers .Maybe is just a "mod".

When i was playing interlude there was this cool animation on elven elder, bishop etc , when you were using invocation the player used to make this animation that let other player know when the bishop was using the invo am not sure why they would remove something that cool or is just a bug.I guess the animation is not so important as it is cool but why not :D.
